Leather
We want to work with leathers that will last an incredibly long time and that are going to age beautifully as they are worn in. All leather we use is vegetable tanned, the oldest and purest method of tanning raw hides. Further, we only use hides that are full grain, which is the strongest, most fibrous layer of the animal skin. Also, we like to choose leather that is stuffed with waxes and oils, making it more resistant to the elements and adding a richness and depth to the surface of the hide. All leather used is from USA and Italy and is a by-product of the meat industry.

Hardware
All of the hardware on our products is made from solid brass, except for the occasional copper rivets. Brass is the ideal alloy for leather goods because of it’s supreme durability. Made from a mixture of copper and zinc, it is insusceptible to corrosion and is anti-bacterial.

Thread
We only use heavyweight, bonded nylon thread. It is made to be extremely resistant to abrasion with excellent seam strength. This is some of the strongest thread out there.

Locks
The key locks for our briefcases are designed and made in Switzerland. Built from solid brass, these locks have a simple opening mechanism with minimal moving parts, allowing for lifetimes of use without failure. A key is provided with each lock, although most customers choose to leave theirs unlocked.
